WPI Postdoctoral Fellow
About Vinodh Joseph
Vinodh grew up in a beautiful small town Nagercoil in South India. He earned his PhD in Chemical Biology from Kyoto University, where he studied the structure and function of nucleic acids inside cells under Prof. Hiroshi Sugiyama. He continued in the same lab as a postdoctoral researcher, investigating nucleic acid secondary structures and their roles in mitochondria.
He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Bio2Q, Keio University, where he explores how microbiota-derived metabolites influence host metabolism, using tools from mass spectrometry and chemical biology. He is especially interested in connecting microbial chemistry to human health through protein-related pathways.
Outside the lab, Vinodh enjoys cycling around Japan, working out at the gym, and learning scientific animation to communicate complex scientific ideas in visual and engaging ways.
