About Junghyun Im
Jung Hyun grew up in Seoul, Korea. She earned her PhD in Integrated Life Science from Kyoto University, where she studied the unique mechanisms of viral dsRNA recognition by viral RNA sensing proteins. After she received doctoral degree, she worked in the Laboratory of Environmental Infection Control, Louis-Pasteur Center of Medical Research as a research Scientist, investigating effective disinfection methods using hypochlorite water.
She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Bio2Q, Keio University, where she explores primate-specific proteostasis mechanism in specific cell types. She is especially interested in how intestinal epithelium maintains proteostasis under diverse external stressors.
Jung Hyun enjoys adventure and taking on challenges, and loves learning multiple languages and cultures. She feels a thrill exploring the amazing mysteries of living things.
